The Microsoft Office suite is ubiqious in companies and governments. But often, it's not a lovestory but a lock-in to a subtly toxic relationship and huge power imbalance. Besides all the obvious downsides this has, in today's political climate, European users are even susceptible to blackmail (read: an unforunate outage affecting most of Europe). Times are changing though: Free/libre and sovereign alternatives catch up in quality by the day.
